Don't become Frozen
As I sat in Church, they mentioned being hot for Christ, and this analogy dropped in my spirit.
Imagine a kettle of water on the stovetop, it gets to the boiling point and continues to boil while releasing lots of steam into the air and it remains on the stovetop; This is how our relationship with God should be. When we stay connected to Him, to the source of our heat, we can be a vessel to release His Glory, His message, His Love and be a Light to those around us (i.e. the steam).
To continually do so, we need to stay connected to Him, the stovetop needs to stay on. How do we stay connected? Through prayers, worship, praise, and bible study; through personal devotion to Him. You need to build your altar, pour oil on it daily, consecrate it, and let there be fire on that altar (This is something we all know).
Imagine taking that same water and leaving it on the stovetop with the burner turned off, it will initially stay hot, but it will gradually lose its heat until it is no longer hot, and it is also not cold. It will be lukewarm. It is still on the stovetop, but no fire or heat is getting to it. This happens when we get too busy for God; we stop fellowship with the brethren, we do not pray, and read the Bible and just don't have time.
("I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot. [16] So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth. Revelation 3:15-16 NKJV).
After putting the lukewarm water in the freezer and altering its surroundings by removing it from the heat source, the water transforms; From being a lukewarm liquid, it eventually solidifies and changes into something else. It was boiling water before, but ice cubes now.
That freezer, you see, is a metaphor for the world and everything worldly; it erases everything that God has placed within you and renders you unrecognizable. You become cold and lifeless, and you cease to be a source of illumination for Him. The Devil is proud of you since you have outlived your usefulness to God.
(Therefore, let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall 1 Corinthians 10:12 NKJV).
But it is not the end, Christ defeated the devil for you and for me at the cross, all you must do is retrace your steps. (This is why I remind you to fan into flames the spiritual gift God gave you when I laid my hands on you 2 Timothy 1:6 NLT). Return to your altar, re-awaken the flames, fan them into life and once again be a vessel unto honour. Be consistent, diligent, and faithful to Him who has called you. (Therefore, submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you James 4:7 NKJV).
No one said it would be easy, depend on Him and ask Him for help daily; before you know it, you are once again light in Him.
He is calling you; will you answer? There is rest in and with Him. (Come to Me, all you who labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest Matthew 11:28 NKJV).
